Mrs. Theda Ross Aud was raised in Gurdon where she graduated from Gurdon High School and then Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia. She taught school in the Gurdon and Arkadelphia School Districts for fifteen years.
Mrs. Aud was very active in her community, serving as a member of the Clark County Historical Association, the Arkadelphia Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Baptist Health Hospital Auxiliary, Arkadelphia Area Chamber of Commerce, and as a trustee and secretary for the Olds Foundation in Amity. She was a member of Arkadelphia First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class.
Theda held several different offices in local and national organizations serving on many different committees, including president of the Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Association and chair of the American Hospital Association Committee on Volunteers. Theda was honored to be named Woman of the Year by the Atlanta, Texas, area Chamber of Commerce and with the Sandra Wilson Cherry Award for leadership and community service by the Gaines House.
